We report the bad News of the world, and The Good News of Jesus Christ the Savior of the World.
Many years ago I lived in Salmon Idaho, at around 12 or 13 years old, we moved from there out near Leadore along a tributary of the Lemhi River on a creek known as Haynes Creek. From there we moved to Challis for over a year then back to Salmon. I…Continue

Then Jesus asked, "Who do you say I am?" Peter answered, "You are the Christ."
— Mark 8:29 ERV (Read Full Text)
This is the key question that Jesus asks each of us: "Who do you say I am?" Our answer is crucial! Our whole life hangs in the balance as we answer this question. Yes, Peter says, "You are the Messiah." However, Jesus is much more than the Messiah; he is our Lord; he is our Savior; he is our brother; he is our King; he is our High Priest; ... So who do you say that Jesus is? (Today, especially, please read the cross referenced Scriptures to this devotional and be reminded of how important Jesus is to you!)
O LORD God Almighty, my Heavenly Father, thank you for Jesus. He is so much more than words can capture. He exhausts the meaning of every title. I praise you for your plan and purpose in sending him. In Jesus' name I offer my prayer and my life to you. Amen.
This is what the Scripture says: "God's teaching is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart." That teaching is the teaching of faith that we tell people. If you openly say, "Jesus is Lord," and if you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from death, then you will be saved. Yes, we believe with our heart, and so we are made right with God. And we use our mouth to say that we believe, and so we are saved. Yes, the Scripture says, "Any person that trusts in him (Christ) will never be disappointed." That Scripture says "any person" because there is no difference between Jew and non-Jew. The same Lord is the Lord of all people. The Lord gives many blessings to all people that trust in him. Yes, {the Scripture says,} "Every person that trusts in the Lord will be saved."
— Romans 10:8-13
No person can see God. But Jesus is exactly like God. Jesus is ruler over all the things that have been made. Through his power all things were made--things in heaven and on earth, things seen and not seen, all {spiritual} powers, authorities, lords, and rulers. All things were made through Christ and for Christ. Christ was there before anything was made. And all things continue because of him. Christ is the head of the body. (The body is the church.) Everything comes from him. And he is the Lord who was raised from death. So in all things Jesus is most important. God was pleased for all of himself to live in Christ. And through Christ, God was happy to bring all things back to himself again--things on earth and things in heaven. God made peace by using Christ's blood (death) on the cross. At one time you were separated from God. You were God's enemies in your minds, because the evil things you did were against God. But now Christ has made you God's friends again. Christ did this by his death while he was in his body. Christ did this so that he could bring you before God. He brings you before God as people who are holy, with no wrong in you, and with nothing that God can judge you guilty of.
— Colossians 1:15-22
He also says, "I will trust in God." And he says, "I am here. And with me are the children that God has given me." Those children are people with physical bodies. So Jesus himself became like those people and had the same experiences people have. Jesus did this so that, by dying, he could destroy the one who has the power of death. That one is the devil. Jesus became like those people and died so that he could free them. They were like slaves all their lives because of their fear of death. Clearly, it is not angels that Jesus helps. Jesus helps the people who are from Abraham. For this reason Jesus had to be made like us his brothers and sisters in every way. Jesus became like people so that he could be their merciful and faithful high priest in service to God. Then Jesus could bring forgiveness for the people's sins. And now Jesus can help those people who are tempted. Jesus is able to help because he himself suffered and was tempted.
— Hebrews 2:13-18

Prayer for America
God of our Fathers, Shepherd of Thy people, Lord of free men's souls,
bless Thou our nation with a valiant, Godly spirit, with a vision to see, with the courage to try,
with the power to achieve, that, marching behind Thee, Thy people shall not perish.
God, bless our America! Hear our prayer for our united peoples, grant guidance to our leaders,
protection to our sons, and teach each of us Thy way of life in good will and peace. Amen.
Almighty God, there are so many things about which I am grossly ignorant. There are so many things in my world that I can't keep up. There are so many things about you that I long to know but I can't begin to comprehend. Please, dear Father, give me more of you: Help me know more about you…

After discovering these things to his people on earth, Christ seems to take leave of them, and return to heaven; but he assures them it shall not be long before he comes again. And while we are busy in the duties of our different stations of life; whatever labours may try us, whatever…
Jesus says, "take freely." He wants no payment or preparation. He seeks no recommendation from our virtuous emotions. If you have no good feelings, if you be but willing, you are invited; therefore come! You have no belief and no repentance,--come to Him, and He will give them to you. Come just as…

Almighty God, if I am overwhelmed by the tides of temptation and discouragement, let me not drift away to sea, but anchor and take harbor in thee. May I not be afraid to trust in thy protection, but calmly wait and watch for thy deliverance. Amen.

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. (John 14:13 KJV)
The question that will define us more than any other is -- upon what do we base our worldview? Here are ten of the truths that shape the way I see the world.
In a generation marked by relativism the public arena is filled with differing views on the largest issues of our time. The primary source from which we draw our worldview defines where we stand and why. The following are 10 biblical truths that shape my worldview:
1. Every human being has innate dignity: Genesis 1:27 "So God created man in His own image."
2. Life is to be valued from the womb: Psalm 139:13 "You knit me together in my mother's womb."
3. A nation that honors God will prosper but a nation that turns its back on God will not: Proverbs 14:34 "Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people."
4. Image without character comes up short: I Samuel 16:7 "Man looks at the outward appearance but the Lord looks at the heart."
5. We make an eternal investment when we tend to the poor: Proverbs 19:17 "One who is gracious to a poor man lends to the Lord, and He will repay him for his good deeds."
6. We are nurturing God's handiwork when we protect the earth: Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth."
7. We must stand against injustice wherever it is found: Amos 5:15 "Hate evil, and love good and establish justice."
8. Possessions alone will never satisfy the heart of man: Luke 12:15 "...be on guard against all kinds of greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."
9. Love has the power to heal a broken world: John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
10. Death is not the final word: Isaiah 25:8 "He will swallow up death for all time."
The Scriptures tell us that it is in seeking first the Kingdom of God that we properly prioritize everything else. The issues that we face on a global and personal level demand that our convictions and actions be based in something more than subjectivity. The question that will define us more than any other is upon what do we base our worldview?
